Fit Kids initiative promotes nutrition, health and fitness among children

Virginia, USA (CU)_ The Center for Rural and Community Health (CRCH) at the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (WVSOM) is collaborating with a group of WVSOM students to conduct a series of Fit Kids events focused at encouraging nutrition and fitness among area kids aged between 6 to 11.

The Fit Kids program commenced with a test event in May and went on till August 22 with a welcoming celebration. Each segment offers activities and educational opportunities based on a specific theme. The other specific guidelines are mandatory masks, social distancing, and parents must accompany their children during the sessions. The events will be managed and overseen by WVSOM students and CRCH personnel.
