Freedom Foods looking for a fresh start following turbulent year

SYDNEY (CU)_Just over a year ago, cereal and snack-maker Freedom Foods was being investigated by the Australian Securities & Investments Commission (ASIC) over a series of accounting irregularities, and $590 million in write-downs. In October 2019, the company reported that it earned $11.6 million in full-year profit. But in November last year, this figure was “restated” as a $145.8 million loss.
