the Lanka Gem Dealers and Miners Association and the Minister of Plantation and Industries Dr. Ramesh Pathirana in the city of Ratnapura which is popularly known as the gem capital of Sri Lanka.

The main agenda of the meeting was to discuss an efficient fuel distribution plan in order to ensure uninterrupted supply of essential energy to mines in Sri Lanka. At the time of the meeting, 4000 mines were already receiving fuel through the Sri Lanka Transport Board depots.
Another key point discussed at the meeting was the establishment of the QR code system proposed by Minister Ramesh Pathirana which would navigate the adequate distribution process of fuel for the gem industry. This project would be carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Power and Energy.

Additionally, the future of the growth in alliance to the development of the gem exportation was discussed in positive light, articulating plans for a stable future for gem miners and merchants in Sri Lanka.
Members of Parliament Janaka Wakkambura and Waruna Liyanage and officials of the local political authority, National Gem and Jewelry Authority, Sri Lanka Transport Board and Ceylon Petroleum Corporation were also present at the meeting.
Overall the meeting was a pivotal event in securing an ideal future for the gem industry in Sri Lanka whilst implementing better facilities and a more effective channel of distribution in order to uplift the mining segment of Sri Lanka.
