Mumbai, India (CU)_ According to the latest announcement from the Union government, all transgender people will receive an annual health insurance coverage of INR 5 lakh each under the Ayushman Bharat program. The insurance policy will also cover operations for gender transformation. Under the Health Ministry, the National Health Authority and the Social Justice Ministry inked a memorandum of understanding to initiate this program.
