the third most polluted city in the world, due to growing haze that smothered the cultural capital of Pakistan. Numerous people have been afflicted with respiratory and other diseases as a result of the contaminated air.

According to the air quality tracking platform IQAir based in Switzerland, Lahore was placed third on the pollution index, after Bangladesh’s capital Dhaka and Mongolia’s capital Ulaanbaatar in the first and second places, respectively. According to Rafeh Alam, an environmental specialist who has been advocating for more public awareness of the consequenses of rising pollution, many people, particularly women and children, are being exposed to polluted air, which causes a variety of maladies. He requested the administration to take action to combat air pollution.

The common practice of impoverished Pakistani farmers of setting fire to leftovers of the previous season’s crops before preparing the ground for the following planting season contributes further to vehicular and industrial pollution. Winds exacerbate pollution by spreading haze further across the region. Authorities stated that they shut down some factories and punished others for failing to use pollution-controlling technologies. Doctors recommend that individuals use face masks to prevent respiratory illnesses.
