Malawi (Common Wealth) _ The second annual Wine Festival is being held this week in Lilongwe by a well-known wine firm that offers premium wines and craft beers to individuals and businesses. The festival’s two main events, set for Wednesday night and Saturday afternoon, respectively, are sure to excite wine fans.

According to Mike Vandell and Trent Jannah, the founder and manager of Wine &Wings, respectively, Wine Festival is a widely anticipated yearly event that celebrates the World of wine and brings wine fans, industry professionals, and connoisseurs together in Malawi.

According to Vandell and Jannah, the Wine Festival features a variety of wines from South African vineyards and gives attendees a special chance to partake in tastings, learn about winemaking, and connect with the people behind their favorite wines and take part in numerous events relating to wine.

“A common love of wine and a desire to encourage Malawians to appreciate this fine beverage served as the inspiration for the event. It strives to promote a thriving wine culture and inform customers about various wine types.

It is important for Malawi because it offers a stage for presenting wine as a way of life, boosting tourism, and fostering economic development through wine-related enterprises.

The first occasion, a screening of the film Blind Ambition, will take place on Wednesday at The Farmer’s Daughter and be hosted by renowned Zimbabwean winemaker and taster Joseph Dhafana, who is also the founder and director of Mosi Wines and Spirits and is located in South Africa.

The film follows the inspirational black Zimbabwean winemakers, including Dhafana in the role of Captain, who placed in the top three at the 2017 and 2018 World Blind Wine Tasting Championships in Burgundy.

Twelve South African winemakers will attend the second event, Wild about wine, which will take place Saturday afternoon at Woodlands and include activities including wine tasting, music, and entertainment. Customers should anticipate a riveting mix of wine-tasting experiences, informative workshops, and interesting entertainment, according to Vandell and Jannah.

The event, they continued, is a special chance to taste a wide selection of wines from 12 wineries, talk with professional winemakers, and discover the various flavors and smells of various grape kinds.

“The festival includes elements of wine marketing and promotion to support the South African wineries, even though the focus is primarily on wine appreciation and enjoyment.”

The two claim that Malawi’s wine sector is expanding and exhibiting encouraging signs of change. Despite the lack of established wineries in Malawi, Vandell and Jannah noted that there has been a noticeable increase in the population’s interest in wine.
