New Delhi, India (CU)_ According to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, India must play an active role in developing the nation in the new world order that is evolving after the pandemic. The prime minister made his remarks during the 96th Common Foundation Course of the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration’s valedictory session. The PM expressed hopes over developing in the new world order era. He said. “In the circumstances created by Covid-19, a new world order is emerging. In this new order, India has to develop itself at a faster pace”.
The Prime Minister urged trainee officials at the Mussoorie college to never lose sight of the overarching objective of transforming India into a modern, self-sufficient nation. The PM spoke about the specialty of the current batch. He said, “I have interacted with several batches of civil services trainees but your batch is special because you have done it in the year when India completes 75 years of Independence. When the country completes 100 years of its Independence you will be in service”.
Modi urged training officers to never lose their feeling of service and responsibility, adding that throughout their careers, they should constantly assess if they are losing these two characteristics. The PM said, “The sense of authority and power harms both individuals and institutions.”
Additionally, the PM urged the training officers to keep in mind that the country’s slogan of reform, perform, and transform must be elevated to the next stage. The PM advised on taking bold decisions at the right times. He said, “When you go in the field you should not hesitate in taking a decision that you think might make a difference in the life of the man on the lowermost rung of the social ladder”.
The PM also cautioned them not to disregard the data contained in files presented to them while out in the field, adding that they pertain to people and dreams. He stated, “Try to understand the rationale behind a system in relation to the time in which it was established. When you understand the logic behind a system you can come up with permanent solutions”.
