West Bengal following the election results. Following the declaration of the assembly election results on May 2, many violent incidents took place in West Bengal. After the violence, the BJP claimed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) killed many of its employees and wounded several more. Protesters held placards that read “Hindu Lives Matter” and “Protest Against Hindu Genocide” to call attention to the killings that occurred shortly after the poll results were announced. According to Judhajit Senmazumdar, a Silicon Valley technology entrepreneur who regularly visits Bengal, the pain felt by the diaspora was severe. He said, “After the results were announced, my friends and I got frantic calls for help from people facing targeted attacks; shops were being looted and bombs were being thrown inside houses”.
