NAIROBI, Kenya (CU)_Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari, during his three-day visit to Kenya, discussed promotion of technological cooperation with the African nation.

During a meeting held on Thursday (Jan 29), as part of VP Sattari’s visit, the Iranian official stressed the importance of enhancing mutual relations between the two nations for the purpose of technological development.

He noted that technological progress in Iran gained momentum over the past few years, with more than 6,000 knowledge-based and innovative companies with $12 billion sales taking shape.

“Major start-ups have been set up in our country and they export their products to other countries as well,” Sattari noted.

From these firms, around 40 teams accompanied the Iranian delegation on this trip, and conducted discussions with 130 Kenyan companies and had face-to-face meetings.  Sattari said these meetings would be “a good link” for the transfer of Iran’s technology to Kenya, and will result in bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

The Iranian vice president therefore invited Kenyan officials and technology experts to visit Iran’s technological infrastructure, and urged the African nation to run joint projects with Tehran in the domain of technology and know-how transfer.
