Addressing the media following her win, an emotional Jaismine said, “This feeling can’t be put into words. I’m so happy to be a world champion. After my early exit in Paris last year, I worked hard on both my physical and mental game. This gold is the result of that dedication.” Born on August 30, 2001, in Bhiwani, Haryana, Jaismine comes from a family with deep sporting roots. Her great-grandfather, Hawa Singh, was a two-time Asian Games gold medalist in heavyweight boxing. Her grandfather was a wrestler, and her uncles, both national boxing champions, played a key role in her training. Jaismine lives with her parents: her father is a home guard, and her mother is a homemaker. She has two sisters, one of whom is a physiotherapist.

Encouraged by her uncles, her family supported her decision, and she soon joined a local boxing academy. Jaismine had previously won bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth Games and qualified for the Paris Olympics in 2024. Although she exited early in Paris, her comeback this year has firmly established her as one of India’s brightest boxing talents.
