Joshua returns in September

-

UK (Commonwealth) _ Anthony Joshua has said that he will fight on September 20th or 21st after defeating Francis Ngannou via knockout in the second round. Following his victory over Otto Wallin, he secured his second consecutive victory under Ben Davidson.

There was a storyline before to fighting Ngannou that said the winner would box the winner between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk. On May 18, Fury and Usyk square off for the title of Undisputed Heavyweight Champion.

The victor must also defend against the IBF mandatory; there is a rematch provision in force. Either Daniel Dubois or Filip Hrgovic will compete on June 1. Joshua may, however, box with the winner of Fury-Usyk before a rematch occurs. This is particularly true if Fury wins since it will provide fans with a homegrown fight in the United Kingdom.

Joshua has no motivation to face Usyk again because he has already lost to him twice. Though those plans seem to have changed, it may still be the case. Joshua discussed boxing either the winner of Deontay Wilder vs. Zhang, or the winner of Filip Hrgovic vs. Daniel Dubois.

Joshua’s Comeback

“It will take place at Wembley Stadium in London. This is what I’m hearing. Let’s accept it if that is what they say because they often keep their word. September 20 or 21, Wembley. On June 1, there will be two matches: Filip Hrgovic vs. Daniel Dubois and Zhilei Zhang vs. Deontay Wilder. Thus, as long as one of those [winners] is the most attractive, the Honorable I told Turki Alalshikh, “I want you to fight him.” Joshua stated, “He’s attempting to provide what the fans want.”

The matchup that would be most ideal is Joshua vs. Wilder. With the exception of Wilder’s WBC championship, Joshua was the undisputed winner of a bout in 2018. Eddie Hearn received $50 million from Wilder’s side. Before a contract was provided, Joshua’s side had to accept the offer, though. The deal was never accepted because such conditions were unacceptable.

Joshua would lose his belt and Wilder’s as the bout was never made. Then, a two-fight agreement was reached, contingent on the victories of Wilder and Joshua. Joshua prevailed over Wallin, but the fight’s prospects were dashed when Wilder fell to Joseph Parker. Fans might still witness the two heavyweights in the ring, even though Joshua vs. Wilder is not as important as it once was. Wilder’s subsequent remarks suggest that there is still a desire to engage in combat.

Joshua against WilderNo matter what, people will always want to see that battle. I estimated its [percentage probability of occurrence] to be in the upper 90s. That one argument, that one evening, is all it takes. As soon as Deontay Wilder takes [Zhang’s] head off, everything goes insane. Joshua vs Wilder. They want it once more,” said Wilder.

But Zhang must make way for Wilder. With his future on the line, the Chinese heavyweight also fell to Parker in his most recent bout. In his most recent bout, Zhang defeated Parker twice and looked better than Wilder. But on his route to a decision loss, he was outboxed. Zhang is prepared to force Wilder to retire this time.

To meet with his folks, my team even took a plane to London. And from what I’ve heard, Eddie [Hearn] seemed to appreciate the notion, but I’m not sure if that’s true for him or the management surrounding him. It was something I truly desired. I can only tell you that. Zhang disclosed
