‘Last of Us II’ takes top spot at Game Award 2020

New York, USA (CWBN)_ The action-adventure game Last of Us II set in a post-apocalyptic world developed by Naughty Dog and published by Sony Interactive Entertainment, won the title for Game of the Year, at the live-streamed Game Awards (2020) on Thursday (10th Dec).

The runners up included Hades, Animal Crossing: New Horizons, DOOM Eternal, Final Fantasy VII – Remake and Ghost of Tshushima.

The game also won titles for Best Game Direction, Best Narrative, Innovation in Accessibility and Best Action-Adventure Game, while voice actress, Laura Bailey, was awarded Best Performance for her role as Abby.

The awards show was aired in 4K from studios in Los Angeles, Tokyo and London, with the participation of former President of Nintendo, Reggie Fils-Aimé, and was curated and hosted by Geoff Keighley.

Meanwhile, Final Fantasy VII managed to grab the title for Best Role-Playing Game. Among Us was titled Best Multiplayer and Best Mobile Game. Hades was able the nab the title for the Best Action Game and Best Independent (Indie) Game.

No Man’s Sky and Animal Crossings was given the tiles of Best On-going Game and Best Family Game respectively.
