Six men from a Grooming gang sexually assaulted a teenager in London. After hours of protests, the police took one of the perpetrators into custody and released the victim.

In a disturbing incident in Hounslow, West London, 200 members of the Sikh community gathered, chanting, ‘Jo Bole’, So Nihaal, Sat Sri Akal’, which translates into ‘Whoever speaks (these words of faith) shall be blessed/fulfilled; Truth is the Timeless One’, to rescue a 16-year-old girl held captive by a man in his late 30s. Six other men, belonging to a grooming gang, sexually assaulted the teenager. Following hours of protests, the police arrested one of the perpetrators before releasing the girl.

The internet has gone viral with a video of the demonstration, showing the accused in a police van.

Another video was posted on Instagram on December 30, 2025, by Sikh community group AK Media 47, showing its leader, Jassa Singh, confronting an individual alleged to be a groomer, reportedly of Afghan origin.

It’s reported that the accused had befriended the teenager when she was only 13 years old. This led to a relationship beginning between the two of them. She had been persuaded through grooming tactics to leave her home when turning 16, as disclosed by the Sikh Press Association. The area where the accused lived contained 20 secondary schools, so there were several children passing by his home.

Pakistani-origin grooming gangs resident in the UK have been associated with systematic child abuse for decades. They tend to target young girls, aged 11-16, by luring them with promises of love, gifts, and friendships. They tend to target Sikh, Hindu, and white girls from vulnerable backgrounds to initially isolate them from their families. Once isolated, the perpetrators often resort to blackmailing them with threats, in addition to trafficking them for profit.

Last year, American billionaire Elon Musk stood up in support of Reform UK Member of Parliament Rupert Lowe. The MP had urged other parliamentarians to ignore the UK prime minister’s calls to vote against a full national inquiry into the Pakistani rape gangs. Musk wrote on X that ‘they should ignore him and do the right thing’.
