Looking Ahead: Will AI Threaten Creative Careers?

-

The latest text-to-image technology demonstrations by DALL-E 2 from OpenAI and Imagen from Google have astounded the world.

Imagine a world where users can find the best content for their needs without having to scroll through a ton of image results thanks to AI technology.

Simply by typing in their requests, the AI will create drawings and photographs that correspond to the text.

For instance, “AI, please upload a photo of Elon Musk and me having a picnic on Mars.”

The system functions essentially as an AI designer.

Text-to-video and music technologies, which are already commercially available and being improved, have the potential to incorporate more creative processes.

Having brilliant and inspiring ideas will be even more crucial as AI may replace drawing skills. The ability to differentiate between the best and worst output will also be essential. People with less artistic talent might find it simpler to produce their own unique works of art.

But it’s not just about being creative; it’s also about using technology to change the course of the world for the betterment of future generations.

What effects will artificial intelligence have on the innovative processes used in the field of business?

-First off, it can drastically reduce the amount of time, money, and resources that marketing and advertising teams use.

-In a matter of seconds, a new campaign could start.

-Teams could proactively launch goods and services in new ways, adapt to market changes, and respond to news or trends with the help of AI-based creative.

-Such content and materials could be quickly and cheaply translated into various languages using AI, allowing businesses to expand internationally by quickly and affordably reaching a large audience.

These are strong arguments for investing in AI technology for innovative applications.

The most important question, however, is what the use of such technology will mean for the role of humans.

Humans would still be expected to handle higher-level tasks, such as developing ideas, instructing, evaluating, revising, and making final decisions—and they would have an infinite number of options available to them in a world where AI systems could enhance creative processes.

Because people can perform a variety of tasks more easily with the help of AI tools, both productivity and creativity may rise.

As with any revolutionary technology, there is the possibility of abuse – but how much control does AI have over what we see and hear? Will our future lead to a dystopia or another Black Mirror episode?

I believe that our society can reach an ethical common understanding to use technology in positive ways, but we also have the option of regulating if necessary.

The issue of copyright or plagiarism is one potential issue for an AI system used for creative development, so can applying human rules to AI creations lead to a solution?

Our society has already reached an agreement on human plagiarism in writing or composition. Similar guidelines could be applied to AI creators, and if necessary, an AI-based plagiarism checker could assist in reviewing users’ decisions for full clarity.

Humans are in command.

Every human voice, for example, is made up of tens of thousands of characteristics. The same can be said for images. This makes full replication without permission extremely difficult, and researchers are working on other preventative measures.

We are currently living in a time when creativity has the potential to take a giant leap forward, and the possibilities are limitless.
