Where the issue lies is less obvious but is nevertheless significant; when the top order performs well, the middle order cannot afford to not perform, as their failure could ultimately help doom RR against a team who should have nothing to play for but themselves.
The head-to-head record draws even more attention. Rajasthan has won four of six matches against Lucknow; this info may inspire some of the more established teams during this match. This match is a situation where the outcome could hinge on one or two big partnerships, a fielder making a crucial catch or an important decision being made by a player.
