Many in armed forces to be featured at King Charles coronation

Europe UK (Commonwealth Union) – The coronation of the British monarch is one of the most iconic and grand events in the history of the United Kingdom. The coronation ceremony marks the formal ascension of the monarch to the throne and has been celebrated for centuries with pomp, ceremony, and tradition.

Over 6,000 men and women from the United Kingdom’s Armed Forces are set to be a part of this historic Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla that is scheduled for May 6th.

This is set to be one of the most extensive military ceremonial activities for 70 years sailors, soldiers and aviators from right across the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth that will participate in 2 magnificent processions joining Their Majesties to and from Westminster Abbey, where the Coronation Service will be underway.

In the weeks ahead the, Armed Forces personnel from across the UK are expected to be on a tight schedule for their part in a display of pageantry as well as professionalism to honor their new Commander-in-Chief, The King.

The Coronation Procession is set to be an extensive display of the diversity as well as traditions of the UK along with the Commonwealth Armed Forces. The public is set to be given a chance to witness the full-spectrum display of unique and historic uniforms whose designs are in certain instances dating back 100s of years, flags representing nations across the Commonwealth and 20 different bands, which will march in exact rhythm. This is set to display the very finest of the Armed Forces, who will guide Their Majesties back to Buckingham Palace, prior to the conduction of a Royal Salute.

“I am incredibly proud of our brilliant military personnel who are preparing to honour centuries of military tradition by taking to the streets, skies and seas to pay tribute to our new King and Queen and mark the Coronation next month,” said British PM Rishi Sunak.
