(Commonwealth_India) Prime Minister Narendra Modi recently visited Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur, where he addressed a gathering and laid the foundation stone for the Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute. During his speech, the Prime Minister shared several significant updates regarding the government’s commitment to improving healthcare access across the country. The government had decided to lower cancer medication prices and make treatment more affordable, he said. In addition, the prime minister revealed that day care centers for cancer patients would be established in every district of the country over the next three years, aiming to strengthen the nation’s healthcare infrastructure and support those battling cancer.

As part of his speech, PM Modi took the opportunity to praise the efforts of sanitation workers, often referred to as “safai karmis’, and police personnel for their hard work and dedication during the Mahakumbh, a major religious and cultural event. He acknowledged that thousands of doctors and volunteers had contributed to the success of the event by working selflessly, reflecting the spirit of service that characterized the occasion. The Prime Minister emphasized that people attending this “great Kumbh of unity” were appreciating the tremendous efforts made by all involved in its organization and management.

PM Modi also used the platform to criticize those who oppose the nation’s religious and cultural traditions. He specifically referred to the ongoing Maha Kumbh in Prayagraj as the “Maha Kumbh of Unity” and expressed his concern over certain political groups that mock religion and attempt to sow divisions among people. He further pointed out that these groups often receive support from foreign powers to weaken the nation’s unity and the faith of its people. The Prime Minister reiterated that for centuries, those who have opposed Hinduism have attacked its beliefs, temples, culture, and traditions, intending to break the nation’s unity.

The Prime Minister went on to highlight the significant role played by Dhirendra Shastri in promoting unity across the country. He acknowledged Shastri’s efforts in raising awareness about the importance of social harmony and praised his new initiative to establish a cancer research and treatment institute at Bageshwar Dham. According to Modi, this initiative provides hope for the nation, as it aims to combat cancer and symbolizes a broader commitment to society and humanity. In his address, PM Modi conveyed that the blessings from Bageshwar Dham would bring people health, nourishment, and a sense of spiritual fulfillment.

Furthermore, Dhirendra Shastri, who is spearheading the project, revealed that the award in the upcoming Bageshwar Dham Medical and Science Research Institute would be named after Prime Minister Modi’s late mother, Heeraben Modi, as a mark of respect. The estimated completion time for the hospital is two to three years, with a construction cost of approximately Rs 200 crores. The hospital’s primary mission will be to offer free medical treatment and care to cancer patients from underprivileged and economically disadvantaged sections, further solidifying the government’s focus on ensuring healthcare access for all.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to improve medical infrastructure in the country and provide critical care to those in need, especially in rural and economically weaker areas. By making cancer treatment more affordable and accessible, the government hopes to create a more equitable healthcare system and reduce the financial burden on families struggling with treatment costs.
