The monument is the culmination of nearly four years of preparation and commitment. It was built in Delhi with fiberglass and a steel superstructure, then constructed locally by competent Canadian workers. The building, designed to resist winds of up to 200 km/h, is projected to survive at least 100 years. The design is inspired by the Ram Janmabhoomi Temple in Ayodhya, as noted by Head Priest Acharya Surinder Sharma Shastri, who also created the Hindu Heritage Centre. Additionally, while unveiling the statue, a shower of flower petals was poured to greet the statue, creating a devotional moment of dedication and joy. The audience chanted “Jai Shri Ram,” flooding the temple premises with enthusiasm and devotion.

Furthermore, one exclusive feature of the statue is its display from the sky. The sky-high statue of Lord Rama, placed just beneath the flight route to Toronto Pearson International Airport, will be a treat for the passengers when they enter the city. Furthermore, the spiritual project was undertaken through massive donations, particularly those from the Indian diaspora. Notably, Indo-Canadian entrepreneur Laj Prasher, as well as the Hindu community’s diligent efforts, led the project from the beginning. The Hindu Heritage Centre, located at 6300 Mississauga Road, is now home to a great statue of Lord Ram that will act as a cultural and spiritual landmark for generations to come.
