Pakistan PM orders provision of all facilities to Bahraini investors

Islamabad, Pakistan (CU)_ Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif revealed that he wished to make Pakistan a leading industrialization hub in Asia through massive investment. He was addressing a Bahraini business delegation led by Sheikh Khalid Mohammad Salman Al Khalifa, the founder and chairman of the private corporation Royale Nova.

The meeting was attended by Chaudhry Salik Hussain, Minister for Investment Board; Syed Naveed Qamar, Minister for Trade; Abdul Wasay, Minister for Housing and Works; Ahsan Iqbal, Minister for Planning; Tariq Fatemi, PM’s Special Assistant; and other senior authorities. On this occasion, the prime minister instructed the relevant authorities to prioritize Bahraini investors and provide them with all possible facilities using all available resources.

The Board of Investment (BoI) officials explained the team on the numerous investment prospects in Pakistan’s health, tourism, hotel and hospitality, housing, agricultural, food, and information and technology sectors, among others. The team was informed that Pakistan’s strategic position, young population, competent workforce, vast natural resources, and business-friendly atmosphere makes it an attractive destination for investment.

The team reaffirmed its intention to take advantage of Pakistan’s vast investment opportunities and stated that it plans to invest in the hotel and hospitality and housing industries within the next six months. Additionally, the envoys showed interest in investing in the agricultural, fishing, and construction industries.

In the Gulf Region, Bahrain is home to a sizable Pakistani diaspora. Pakistan and Bahrain maintain good, friendly connections based on a solid foundation of shared values and beliefs. The two nations interact closely on bilateral, regional, and global topics of mutual importance. In 2021, Pakistan and Bahrain commemorated fifty years of diplomatic ties.
