Delhi, India (CU)_ Morning Consult, an American data firm which regularly tracks public approval ratings of world leaders, claimed that Indian Prime Minister Modi nabbed a net rating of 55 percent in 2020, while maintaining ratings of 75 percent in public approval and 25 percent in disapproval.

Commenting via Twitter, President of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jagat Prakash Nadda said that “[Modi’s] popularity not only rises unabated across all demographic groups & geographic regions of the country and he also gets a thumbs up globally for his dedication to his country. PM Modi ranks Number 1 among all global leaders in [these] challenging times.”

Nadda attributed the PM’s success to his successful handling of various issues and the management of the Covid-19 pandemic.

He also added that “Ever since the Modi-led government came into power, people’s trust in the government and the faith that nation is progressing in the right direction has risen drastically. This rating is testimony of his able leadership and hard work and is a thing of pride for all Indians.”

At a press conference held yesterday (2nd Jan), Minister Prakash Javadekar said that it was a “rare phenomenon” that the PM’s ratings had increased over the years, while highlighting Modi’s other achievements.
