LONDON, United Kingdom (CWBN)_ The royal couple Prince William and Kate Middleton announced the sad news that their family dog “Lupo” had passed away last weekend. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took to social media to share the sad news. Prince William and Kate shared an adorable picture of their loving pet Lupo and wrote “Very sadly last weekend our dear dog, Lupo, passed away. He has been at the heart of our family for the past nine years and we will miss him so much.”

The royal family’s dog Lupo belonged to a high breed of English cocker spaniel and was a special wedding gift to the royal couple by Kate’s brother James Middleton. Lupo had been with the royal family for the past nine years and the royal couple had always featured Lupo in their family photographs. Moreover, Lupo had been a good playmate to the royal kids as well. The royal couple have three kids namely Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis.

James Middleton mourned for his lovable pet’s death and wrote, “It is with great sadness that Lupo, the beloved dog of my sister Catherine and her family has passed away. Lupo was the son of Ella, brother to Zulu, Inka & Luna. He was 9 years old. Rest in peace Lupo. Tilly & Mini will be waiting for you. You will always be remembered and your legacy will live on forever. Good Boy”.

Lupo was born to Kate’s parents’ dog “Ella” and Lupo’s siblings are Zulu, Inka and Luna. Additionally, Lupo has been an inspiration to a series of British children’s tales, “Lupo: The Adventures of a Royal Dog”.

James Middleton wrote on Instagram, “Nothing can ever prepare you for the loss of a dog. For those who have never had a dog, it might be hard to understand the loss. However, for those who have loved a dog know the truth: a dog is not just a pet; it is a member of the family, a best friend, a loyal companion, a teacher and a therapist”. The royal family said that they will miss their dear pet Lupo forever, but will cherish his memories always.

The post of Lupo’s death went viral in the social media grounds and garnered 800,000 likes and comments from the netizens, who conveyed their condolences on the social media platforms.
