their own judgments in collaboration with their respective top medical specialists about the best approach to ensure the safety of patients, workers, physicians, and allied health professionals during this new era.

According to Mr Morrison, CEO of sportsmed hospital, hospitals are taking a variety of preventive measures. According to him, safety is the major focus. Mr Morrison also discussed the importance of vaccination. He said, “We know that vaccination is an important step in keeping our whole community safe and we have been impressed with South Australians’ efforts to go out and get vaccinated”. He added, “I think all hospitals are aware that there will be times unvaccinated South Australians will need to come into a private hospital, for example at end-of-life or where they require urgent care that cannot be delayed and there are measures in place to ensure that can occur, while keeping others safe.”

According to Mr Morrison, employees who work in emergency rooms, cancer units, and maternity facilities will take extra care using personal protective equipment. He stated that equal preference will be given to both the staff and the patients. He said, “The approach is to look after the health and safety of staff, but continue to provide care for our patients”.
