Qureshi challenges PDM

Islamabad, Pakistan (CWBN)_ Addressing a press conference held yesterday, Pakistani Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that there are too many doubts about whether or not members of the united opposition, Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), would actually resign from their positions in Parliament.

“The PDM is not a natural alliance. It lacks ideological harmony as each component has a different agenda,” he claimed. ““If they are really determined to resign, they should do it at the PDM meeting which is going to be held on Dec 8.”

Qureshi also noted that the PDM had boycotted several opportunities to raise their concerns with regard to the Covid-19 pandemic, and the prior to the Gilgit-Baltistan elections as well. The minister also alleged that the provincial government of Sindh, under the opposition’s control, adheres to double standards in terms the Covid-19 procedures implemented during the first wave.

Moreover, speaking with regard to Pakistan-India relations, he said that “We have exposed India before the world. […]“Not only the world but Afghanistan itself is appreciating Pakistan’s role in this regard.”

He added that fencing of Pakistan’s borders with Iran and Afghanistan are also underway. It is expected the projects would be completed by with the next 12 months.
