The Palawan@Sentosa, Shangri-La Group’s first standalone lifestyle and entertainment precinct in the world opened on Wednesday at the island destination with vibrant leisure activities for visitors of all ages.  It is an up-and-coming lifestyle destination comprising 8 distinct leisure experiences, such as beachside food trucks, an 18-hole mini golf course, the popular floating aqua park Hydrodash to name a few.

HyperDrive, Asia’s first indoor gamified electric go-kart circuit, will be opening in mid-August, where virtual racing will be brought to life as you unleash your inner racer, and challenge your friends to the finish line.  You are definitely in for an electrifying ride on the expertly designed three-level track made of 308 metres of thrilling straightaways and 14 exciting turns, with turbo-charged boosts and weapon sabotages included.  Afterwards, you could recharge at the HyberDrive Café, which boasts comforting diner-style mains with a gallery view, where you could catch even more go-kart action.

You can also enjoy a day in the sun at two new beach clubs that will span a sprawling 183,000 sq. ft beach wonderland along Palawan Beach.  One is the Splash Tribe, a family-oriented beach club which comes with a sandcastle-themed wet play zone, an infinity pool, mouth-watering food and private 2-storey gazebos.

If you are looking for luxurious soirees accompanied by groovy beats, +Twelve is a terraced beach club that features 12 cabanas with private plunge pools and a main infinity pool with a swim-up bar.

A third beach club named Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club the largest project yet by Tipsy Collective, a homegrown hospitality group, is slated to open on the 1st of September on Siloso Beach, on the space formerly occupied by Wave House.  Tipsy Unicorn spanning a combined 24,000 sq. ft of indoor and outdoor space that could be converted to hold group parties and grand celebrations, will have live bands on its roster like its sister heartland venues, and a 500-seat venue comprising VIP lounges, private cabanas and daybeds.

The island launched the Central Beach Bazaar complex last September which comprises Sentosa SkyJet, the tallest fountain in Southeast Asia, grab-and-go street food sold from trucks, and the daytime Sentosa Musical Fountain which transforms after sundown into the outdoor show Wings of Time.

It was announced in June that KidZania, a popular children’s entertainment theme park is set to return to Palawan Beach in early 2024 following a $3 million makeover that will include new experiences and attractions.

There is more development expected in 2023.  The second Raffles property in Singapore Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa, is set to open at a location near Sofitel Singapore Sentosa Resort & Spa and will comprise 62 contemporary villas, each featuring a terrace and private swimming pool.

Construction is also under way on Sentosa SensoryScape’s 2 tiered walking thoroughfare which links the island’s southern beaches to Resorts World Sentosa.  The half-kilometre linkway is an experiential sensory public park with vessel-like structures that contain gardens designed to stimulate the 5 senses and will cost $ 90 million to construct.  Its completion later in 2023 will mark the first milestone of the blueprint for the Sentosa-Brani Master Plan, which is to be rolled out in phases over the next 2 to 3 decades.

The Palawan Dog Run – a secure green space with agility modules and water points -is a dedicated doggy paradise for those with furkids, where dogs could run around and mingle with other off-leash furry friends.

After all that fun, you could grab a bite at The Palawan Food Trucks, a unique beachside dining experience with ten food trucks serving authentic international cuisine like baos, banh mi, beers, and so much more.

You are surely in for an indulgent experience, of a good, relaxing time lounging by the pool with refreshing tipples and contemporary summer cuisine !
