SIA Colombo Airport Team crowned winner

The Singapore Airlines Colombo Airport Team won the ‘Soaring Team’ award by the Singapore Airlines HQ for the first time, recently held at Shangri-La in Singapore. 
The award which was presented by Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines was to recognise the outstanding members of the team that prioritised customer care without compromise, showed exemplary teamwork and strong resilience in spite of tumultuous circumstances.

Sri Lanka faced a series of unprecedented crises in 2022 and the SIA Colombo team remained 100 % operational through this turbulent period. The team demonstrated great grit and dedication in ensuring that Singapore Airlines’ flights and smooth flight operations continued. One of their achievements was handling 175 flights without significant delays during the country’s crisis, showcasing the SIA Colombo team’s dedication and hard work.

In the opening address, Goh Choon Phong, CEO of Singapore Airlines, stated, “Please continue to inspire others to achieve these high standards of service innovation, teamwork, and leadership, so we may continue to Soar As One”.

The Singapore Airlines Colombo team was honoured to have been recognised as one of the service champions and will continue in its steadfast commitment to underscore the unique SIA spirit and service culture. 

SIA is the longest serving foreign airline operating to Colombo, and has been providing air services between Sri Lanka and Singapore for over 40 years. “Sri Lanka was named the ‘Number 1 Travel Destination in 2010’ by The New York Times and offers visitors a wealth of attractions.

Colombo, Sri Lanka’s capital which has a vast historical past, making it a multi-cultural as well as multi-ethnic city, is a tourist hub of the country and comes with a number of attractions which not only attract travelers of neighboring countries but also from different corners of the world.
