New Delhi, India (CU)_ According to the party, Congress President Sonia Gandhi tested positive for COVID-19 and has since quarantined herself. According to Randeep Surjewala, the main spokesman for the Congress, she suffered a minor fever on Wednesday evening and tested positive for COVID this morning. She is currently on medication to recover from the virus.

Surjewala took to Twitter and officially announced the news. He tweeted, “Congress president had developed mild fever and COVID symptoms last evening. On testing, she has been found to be COVID positive.” He added, “Congress President will appear before ED on 8th June, as informed by us earlier. We, at Indian National Congress, shall keep you posted about any future developments”.

According to him, the Congress President was busy having meetings with leaders and activists throughout the last week, and a few of them too tested COVID-positive. Surjewala stated that the Congress president had quarantined herself as per doctor’s advice. He added, “As a large number of Congressmen and women and well-wishers have expressed concern, we want to say that she is fine and recovering. We thank everyone for their good wishes”. Surjewala also expressed hopes that the Congress leader would recuperate in the following days and test negative before her appearance at the ED.

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has called Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi, a member of the Lok Sabha, to appear before it on June 8 over a money laundering case related to the National Herald newspaper-AJL problem. The congress expressed anger over the ED summons. It complained saying, “The fake issue of AJL, (Associated Journals Limited) is an attempt by BJP’s propaganda machinery to deviate, divert and digress the attention of citizens from the multifarious vital issues of inflation, falling GDP and social unrest, social divisiveness in this country”.

The party stated, “It is clear that the dictator is scared now and is trying to hide all his failures on the governance front by misusing all government agencies. This time they have come out with a new hideous and cowardly conspiracy, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi getting ED notices issued against Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi”. In response to Congress’ complaints, the government stated that the agencies are performing their duties and the opposition should not be concerned if they have not committed any wrongdoing.

For absolute clarity:
• We do not recruit through unsolicited WhatsApp, Telegram, or social-media messages.
• We do not pay individuals to create or post TikTok videos.
• We do not ask anyone to deposit money to “activate” an account, unlock earnings, or participate in any investment programme.

These criminal actors are deliberately misappropriating our name, as well as those of other unaware Companies, forging documents and certificates, and unlawfully reproducing our branding in order to operate completely fraudulent social media promoter and cryptocurrency investment schemes.
