New York, USA (CWBN)_ Sony announced, yesterday (17th Dec), that it would taking down “Cyberpunk 2077” from its PlayStation Store, and that full refunds will be issued to customers upon request.
It has been confirmed that the game was taken down the same day, however, Sony admitted later that evening that some users are “experiencing issues” in accessing the refund forms.
Sony took the decision to take down the game after it was discovered that it carried several bugs, including regular crashes and visual glitches, when played on PS5 on compatibility mode, whereas on PS4, the situation is considerably worse off.
The decision follows an announcement made by the game’s developer CD Projekt Red requesting unsatisfied customers to request refunds, however, Sony’s restrictive policy prevented many users who had purchased the game digitally from doing so, as opposed to Xbox policy.
Although the developer is committed to fix the game bugs, Sony claimed that Cyberpunk will be “unavailable until further notice”.
