optimism regarding the Indian market, buoyed by strong consistent performance over the years. “In the top 10 countries for Asia Pacific in 2021 we have India as one of them just following Thailand,” Automobili Lamborghini’s Asia-Pacific Regional Director Francesco Scardaoni said recently. “Of course in the future we believe that India has a strong potential to rank higher in the top 10 markets for APAC,” he added.

Lamborghini sells a range of super luxury cars in India with prices starting at ₹31.6 million. The firm sold a total of 52 units in 2019 and although there was a slight dip in 2020, at 37 units, sales bounced back in 2021, recording its best sales in the country to date.

“In terms of market you can see how India is growing and of course this growth will also be projected in the next few years,” Scardaoni noted. “We are projecting really good and positive numbers, it means we have a really positive outlook for 2022 and 2023.”

The Lamborghini Urus SUV is the world’s first Super Sport Utility Vehicle to merge the soul of a super sports car with the functionality of an SUV. It has triggered a growth in the carmaker’s sales records, with 70 per cent of the buyers being new to the Lamborghini brand. According to the company’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, a similar trend is seen in India, with the model claiming the attention of customers who were not considering the brand before.

“In a market like India, it is a perfect car and the results are showing us that we are on the right track. We are ready to let India grow even more,” Scardaoni said. “We are able and ready to support new customers that are joining the Lamborghini family.”
