There is going to be a need for space when it comes to the Footy series opener taking place in Australia. Footy Basecamp was set up over concerns the Queensland city did not have enough rooms to fit in the many thousands of fans who were expected to travel north for the series opener. The game was moved from Melbourne to Townsville at short notice due to Victoria’s latest Covid-19 lockdown, giving the far north Queensland city only ten days to prepare for one of the country’s biggest sporting events. The tent city has space for 200 people, and is expected to fill up when NRL releases an extra 2000 tickets for the game. A hundred tents were trucked from Gympie to the site, and fans staying there will be provided with transport to and from the game, 24-hour security, bathroom facilities and power.

Now the kicker is that although these are just tents they will not be cheap they range at 185 Aussie dollars to 285 Aussie dollars a night. Townsville is expected to welcome more than 10,000 patrons on game day with the city’s restaurants, bars and clubs fully booked in preparation. These tents are not supposed to be for luxury purposes but in these times people will pay this kind of money to secure a roof above their heads.

This tent holidays are becoming very famous around the world as there are ranges as to how luxurious they can be. Although in Townsville its just a one night holiday in the African continents Glamping is considered a luxury holiday and the tents costs a lot more than a few hundred dollars.
