BAKAU (CU)_Adama Barrow, of the National People’s Party of the Gambia, was sworn in as the third President of the West African nation recently. As a jubilant crowd of Gambians gathered at the Independence Stadium, in the town of Bakau, he took oath of office, following his re-election after securing 53 per cent of the fourth-December vote. Expressing his gratitude to the people of The Gambia, President Barrow noted that the results of last year’s election were an endorsement of the path he has undertaken.
