During a meeting with the delegation of the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce headed by President Nadeem Rauf, she stated, “Provision of a business conducive environment is among the top priorities of the government.”
The Group Leader of the Rawalpindi Chamber, Sohail Altaf, the President of Small merchants and Small industries, Sheikh Asif Idrees, and Chamber Member Ikram Abbasi also attended the meeting. The minister emphasized the major role played by the business sector in bolstering the national economy, which has encountered numerous challenges. She referred to the business community as the backbone of the economy.
Marriyum appreciated the recommendations of the private sector and the Chamber of Commerce to develop the economy. She viewed the Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce’s organization of the Gems, Jewelry, and Fashion expo as a positive move. The president of the Rawalpindi Chamber, Nadeem Rauf, informed the minister on the chamber’s current operations. He stated that over fifty booths would be built at the gem and jewelry show.
A conference and business-to-business meetings are also scheduled for the event, in addition to the participation of exhibitors from around the nation. He stated that the purpose of the show was not only to enhance the small and medium-sized business sector, but also to urge local merchants and industrialists to boost the brilliant business in the nation.
According to Sohail Altaf, group leader, the business community is extremely concerned about the ongoing economic and political crises in the nation. He asked the government to include stakeholders and develop policies in conjunction with the corporate sector. The show will be hosted at a local hotel in Islamabad from May 20 to 22. In the meantime, Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb stated that the public is aware that former prime minister Imran Khan is responsible for the current economic crisis and unemployment.
