Mumbai (Commonwealth Union)_ Smriti Irani has officially confirmed that Microsoft co-founder and philanthropist Bill Gates will appear in the new season of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2. Gates will feature in a video call in a three-episode storyline. The announcement comes after several reports about his cameo began circulating online earlier today. Calling it a “historic moment” for Indian television, Irani said, “For too long, women’s and children’s health has been sidelined in mainstream conversations. This collaboration aims to change that and bring focus to issues that truly matter.”

A new promo for the show teases the surprise guest, with Tulsi Virani (played by Irani) hinting at an upcoming visitor. The caption reads, “Kaun hai yeh mehmaan… jisse milne ka sabko intezaar hai?” (Who is this guest everyone is waiting to meet?). According to reports, the storyline will promote health and social awareness, particularly focusing on maternal and child health. “Since the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has long supported these causes, this collaboration came naturally,” the report explained. “Smriti wanted to use the show as a platform to highlight health and social issues through engaging storytelling.”

Since returning to television, Irani has made it a priority to integrate social themes into the show’s narrative. Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi 2 has already addressed several relevant issues, from aging and body shaming to family conflicts. “We wanted to talk about real problems that women face daily,” Irani said. She also discussed a storyline where her on-screen daughter files a false domestic violence case, saying, “It’s important to show different perspectives, even those rarely seen in popular television.” Smriti Irani’s confirmation has created a buzz across social media, marking what many are calling a groundbreaking crossover between global philanthropy and Indian entertainment.
