The Most Impressive Phones Expected in 2023

-

It’s difficult to predict what the smartphone business will look like in 2023, companies like Apple, Google, and Samsung generally follow the same launch schedule year after year.

For example, the iPhone 15 series is scheduled to launch in September, possibly with USB-C charging for the first time. If Samsung sticks to its usual release schedule, the Galaxy S23 will be one of the first new phones in 2023.

Such launches would occur after the smartphone industry achieved small but significant moves forward in 2022. For example, the iPhone acquired satellite connectivity for emergencies and car crash detection, while Google found new methods to employ its proprietary Tensor chip in the Pixel 7 and 7 Pro. Meanwhile, Samsung refreshed its top Galaxy S series and enhanced its camera.

Apple iPhone 15

We have no reason to anticipate that Apple’s new iPhone family will be released in September 2023. One of the most significant changes we expect to see in Apple’s next-generation iPhones is the implementation of USB-C charging. By 2024, the European Union has mandated that all new phones sold in the region enable USB-C charging. Apple stated that it would comply with these guidelines, but did not indicate whether this means that USB-C will be phased out beginning in 2023. It’s also unclear whether a USB-C iPhone will be available globally, or if it would only be available in Europe.

Samsung Galaxy S23

According to reports, Samsung’s Galaxy S23 would have significant improvements to the camera and design, two areas that have typically been a priority for the South Korean tech giant.

According to Ice Universe, a frequent leaker on Twitter, the anticipated Galaxy S23 Ultra could contain a 200-megapixel main camera. On paper, that appears to be a significant improvement over the Galaxy S22 Ultra’s 108-megapixel primary sensor. However, it is vital to realise that parameters like as sensor size and speed also have a significant effect in image quality. According to Ice Universe, the new 200-megapixel sensor is only slightly larger than the iPhone 14 Pro’s and slightly smaller than other Android flagships.

Google Pixel 7A

If Google follows history, a cheaper version of the Pixel 7 dubbed as the Pixel 7A could be released in the spring or summer. There aren’t many rumours concerning the Pixel 7A right now. However, developer Kuba Wojciechowski claims to have discovered Pixel 7A-related details in the Android core, implying that some big updates are on the way.

According to Wojciechowski’s research, the Pixel 7A could have a screen with a higher refresh rate of 90Hz and wireless charging, both of which are clearly lacking from the Pixel 6A. Leaked renders from Hemmerstoffer, which were republished on Smartprix, also indicate that the Pixel 7A will look remarkably similar to its predecessor.

Google Pixel 8

Google’s Pixel 7 and 7 Pro have only been on the market for a few months, but speculations regarding the Pixel 8 family have already begun to circulate. According to the German tech blog WinFuture, references to two unreleased Pixel devices have been discovered in publicly available code. According to the discoveries, these two gadgets are codenamed “Shiba” and “Husky,” and they are powered by a new processor codenamed “Zuma.” According to WinFuture, the code also indicates that these devices will run Android 14 and have 12GB of RAM.

Samsung Galaxy A54 5G

Samsung is most known for its Galaxy S handsets, but its Galaxy A phones are worth looking into if you’re on a low budget. Following the release of the Galaxy A53 5G last spring, the next phone in this series is expected to be called the Galaxy A54 5G.

According to the limited rumours that have leaked thus far, the Galaxy A54 5G will be a little upgrade over the A53 5G. It’ll sport a 6.4-inch screen, which is somewhat smaller than the A53’s 6.5-inch screen, and a triple rear camera. That’s according to leaker Hemmerstoffer, who released renderings purporting to illustrate the design of the Galaxy A54 5G with the tech blog 91Mobiles. According to a rumour from the Dutch tech site Galaxy Club, the A54 5G may have a somewhat larger battery than its predecessor.
