Europe, UK (Commonwealth Union) – The recent knife attacks ended in the deaths of little girls may have seemed to have reached a boiling point across the UK. The suspect of the stabbing who was not initially identified due to him being under 18. The detail of the individual was however eventually made public under orders of a judge. The individual was identified as Axel Rudakubana, a 17-year-old British national born in Cardiff to parents of Rwandan origin, was apprehended at the location and faces charges of three murders, ten attempted murders, and possession of a sharp weapon.

A new swift response system was put in place that allows mosques facing the threat of violent disturbances to receive extra security personnel, offering essential support and peace of mind to communities. This initiative is set to enhance the ongoing efforts of local police to safeguard these significant places of worship.

With this new procedure now operational, police, local authorities, and religious institutions can request rapid deployment of security, ensuring community protection and enabling a prompt return to worship activities.

Home Secretary, Yvette Cooper says “Britain is a proud and tolerant country, and nobody should make any excuses for the shameful actions of the hooligans, thugs and extremist groups who have been attacking police officers, looting local shops or attacking people based on the colour of their skin.”

The Government emphasized that deliberate attacks are unacceptable. Anyone participating in violent disturbances, such as assaults on the police, local residents, arson, and looting, will be subject to the maximum penalties of the law.

Chaotic scenes were recorded of rioters attacking hotel which the police seem to have had lost complete control over. The government had accused the far-right groups of taking advantages of the stabbing of the 3 little girls to turn to violence, however prior to the incidence accusations of a two-tyer system had been surfacing with much of the public stating that authorities were only cracking down harshly on far-right attacks. Suspicions of a softer approach on far-left violence during protests had surfaced across many sections of British society. Concerns have also mounted over civil liberties violations with the possibility of police brining in additional facial recognition technology and other measures.
