NEW DELHI (CU)_US President Jose Biden on Monday (26 April) pledged America’s “steadfast support” for India in its battle against the COVID-19 pandemic. The President made this promise during a phone call with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, just a day after the US said it will supply the South Asian nation with raw material required for the manufacturing of the Covishield vaccine.

Subsequently, the Indian PM tweeted: “Had a fruitful conversation with US President Joe Biden today. We discussed the evolving COVID situation in both countries in detail. I thanked President Biden for the support being provided by the United States to India.” He added that their conversation also underscored the importance if an efficient supply of vaccine raw materials and medicines in order to address this global crisis.
