Waze appoints Indian American woman as its CEO

Texas, USA (CU)_ Waze, a Google-owned navigation-based firm, has chosen a vibrant Indian American woman executive as its CEO. Neha Parikh, the former president of the travel company Hotwire, has a diverse background in the travel and navigation industries. Parikh also served as a former board member of Carvana, an Israeli online auto retailer, where she served as CEO for 12 years. She also served on the board of directors of Tailwind Acquisition Corp. and worked for nine years at Hotels.com, a subsidiary of Hotwire, where she rose through the ranks to become the company’s youngest and first female president.

Previously, in 2000, Parikh worked as a Management Consultant with PricewaterhouseCoopers. It is a global professional services network of organizations. She moved on to various jobs after a year with the company, including business analyst, marketing manager, and demand and growth strategy consultant. Parikh began her career at Hotels.com, an Expedia Group subsidiary, as a Product Manager and rose through the ranks to Senior Vice President during the course of her nine-year tenure.

Parikh graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor’s degree in business administration, and earned her master’s degree in business administration from Northwestern University before beginning her career in business and management sector. Following Parikh’s appointment as CEO of Waze, a company representative stated that on taking over the company into the future, she would deeply concentrate on the firm’s passionate community, favourite brand, and quality products.

After joining the company, Parikh stated that she is excited to work for a firm that prioritizes its consumers because customer service has always been a priority in her career. Earlier, one month ahead of taking over the CEO post in Waze, Parikh took to her Linkedin account to announce that she will be joining the company in a month. In her statement, Parikh mentioned that everyone who is close to her also knows that she is a supporter of Waze as it is all about helping others.
