CALGARY (CU)_Farmers on the Canadian Prairies have been battling with the extreme weather conditions since last summer. Prolonged droughts reported across the regions during the period, were sad to be the worst in 60 years on the Prairies, shrivelling crops and drying up pastures so extensively that it lead to an estimated four million tonnes of shortfall of hay for livestock in Alberta, Manitoba and Saskatchewan.
