 philanthropic efforts and her commitment to charity. After inheriting 25% of the Amazon stake in the year 2019, post her divorce from Amazon Founder and Executive Chairman, Jeff Bezos she signed the Giving Pledge, promising to donate half her wealth to charity. In the year 2020, she donated $5.8bn, marking that as one of the largest annual distributions by a private individual to actively functioning charities. She donated a further $2.7bn in 2021. She is also the executive director of Bystander Revolution, which is an anti-bullying organization that she founded in the year 2014.

The special aspect of all this charity is the “no string attached” system followed duly by Scott. She does not involve herself in how her donations are spent and gives full control to the charities on how to best utilise the funds. The New York Times reporting this noted, “Ms. Scott has turned traditional philanthropy on its head… by disbursing her money quickly and without much hoopla, Ms. Scott has pushed the focus away from the giver and onto the nonprofits, she is trying to help.”

Due to her kind persona and note-worthy work, Scott has received much appreciation from all across the globe. In addition to her Forbes rankings, she was also one of Time‘s 100 Most Influential People of 2020.
