13 more countries added for free entry!

The honorable Sean Fraser, ministry of immigration, refugees and citizenship, declared the addition to the electronic travel authorization (eTA) program, 13 more countries. Committed to enhance immigration programs and services by efficiency and equitable to all around the world. Canada is a popular choice for individuals looking to do business, visit, or reunite with friends and family.

Travelers can apply for an eTA, when travelling to Canada by air, rather than applying for a Visa. Individuals from the approved list of countries, who have had for the last 10 years a Canadian Visa or currently holding a valid united states non – immigrant Visa, are eligible for the application.

Eligible travelers from Argentina, Antigua and Barbuda, Morocco, Philippines, Panama, St. Lucia, St. Kitts and Nevis, Thailand, Seychelles, Uruguay and Trinidad and Tobago can benefit from the program.

Thousands of travelers to Canada for leisure or business, can visit up to six months by Visa – free air travel, making it easier, more affordable and faster. Strengthening relationship with these countries by facilitating increased travel, international business and tourism, will help grow Canada’s economy.

This system will help process Visa applications more quickly and effectively. In return benefit all Visa applicants, as thousands of applications will be diverted from Canada’s Visa caseload. Canada expects to receive 200,000 additional visitors from these countries, and almost $160 million in additional revenue is expected within a decade.

From more than 50 countries that can travel to Canada with the absence of a Visa, most require Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), arriving by air.

Temporary residence Visa (TRV) also known as visitor Visa most be applied for countries that are not exempt from obtaining a Visa.

TRV holder, does not have permission to study or work in Canada, and may be asked to prove that their stay is temporary (visiting family or tourism), at the entry point.
