2025 will see the World’s First Space Hotel to Operate!

GLOBAL TRAVEL – A vacation in space might just be a reality sooner than expected. Earlier this week, the Orbital Assembly Corporation announced upcoming plans for its two space stations, detailing accommodations for tourists. The project encompasses two stations, the Pioneer Station which hosts 28 people and the much larger Voyager Station, which has a capacity of 400 people. While the announcement for 2027 opening of Voyage Station, new details have indicated that the Pioneer Station is slated to be operational by 2025.

According to CNN, the Orbital Assembly Corp. has claimed that it hopes to run a space “business park” home to both offices and tourists. While space travel and tourism seem to be closer than ever, the cost to travel is still astronomical. In a new interview with CNN Travel, Tim Alatorre, the company’s chief operating officer said, “The goal has always been to make it possible for large amounts of people to live, work and thrive in space.”

Alatorre also commented on the opening of the new Pioneer Station and its smaller scale concept, “It’s going to get us the opportunity to have people start to experience space on a larger scale, faster.” In order for visitors to maneuver around comfortably, Alatorre has confirmed that the space stations will feature artificial gravity so guests can move like they normally would on Earth. He said, “For the average person, being in space will be a sci-fi dream experience…Our vision is to make space a destination people will yearn to visit, with familiar elements provided by the presence of gravity.”

It remains to be seen if space tourism will be ready by 2025.
