8,100 Covid-19 cases recorded in 24 hours

Cape Town, South Africa (CWBN)_ South Africa recorded 8,166 Covid-19 cases and along with 173 fatalities, yesterday, (11th Dec). The reports raised the number of countrywide infections to 836,764 and 22,747 fatalities.

The cases following 45,207 tests that were conducted, noting an infection rate of 18 percent.

Health Minister, Dr. Zweli Mkhize, “We wish to reiterate our plea to South Africans to heed the threat of the rising numbers of Covid-19 cases identified. There is clear evidence of an exponential rise in transmission and this is cause for serious concern.” The number of cases worldwide have been recorded at about 70 million and 1.58 million, while the UK authorised the Pfizer vaccine for general use, a first-time move among western states
