Oman Air Lands in Doha: Inside the Airline’s Bold Move to Transform Gulf Travel

Oman Air has opened a new office in Qatar. The airline—represented in Doha by ITVAR Representation Services LLC—recently celebrated the opening of a dedicated Oman Air office at the Al Darwish Engineering Building on D-Ring Road. According to Oman Air, this branch will strengthen ties with Qatar’s travel trade market and support easier access to airline services for travelers and tour operators across the peninsula. The opening event included travel agents and partners as well as leaders in the travel sector to network and celebrate with the airline.

The new office in Doha is not simply a desk on a map: rather, it is the first tangible step in a strategy to improve Oman Air’s presence in one of the busiest aviation markets in the Gulf region. Moiz Dodia, Country Manager for ITVAR and Satguru Travel, noted, “Our grand opening marks an exciting new chapter.” Moving forward, this launch strengthens Oman Air’s footprint in Qatar with enhanced customer service. This new office will be a local sales and support hub for Oman Air and assist with bookings, partnerships and other ground support services.

ITVAR—the official General Sales Agent (GSA) for Oman Air in Doha—has extensive regional coverage and specialist representation services that will enable the carrier to integrate into the evolving travel landscape in Qatar. ITVAR’s established presence in dozens of markets provides Oman Air with immediate access to local sales teams, marketing capabilities, and specialised GSA support.

The timing makes sense as well, with Qatar’s Hamad International Airport being globally recognised for world-class connectivity and passenger experience — a great partner for an airline seeking to highlight its regional presence — and, being only roughly 1 hour and 35 minutes’ flight from Muscat to Doha, Qatar is an obvious market for both business and leisure travelers. For Oman Air’s customers, that means more convenience in purchasing tickets, local aftercare support, and smart collaboration with Qatari travel agents.

Since commencing operations in the early 1990s, Oman Air has followed a steady growth trajectory and is still adding networks and fleets to respond to Gulf travel demand. The new office in Doha communicates a specific intention: not merely selling more seats, but embedding the airline into the fabric of local and regional travel—from stopovers to codeshares to corporate contracts—as Gulf aviation once again races to connect people and economies.

In brief, ribbon-cutting in Doha may seem small in stature, but it is a momentous development: a local office that can enhance bookings, strengthen industry relationships, and make short hops across the Gulf into a more cohesive experience for travelers.
