Iran-US Crisis Deepens as Tehran Warns Washington Over Possible Nuclear Facility Attacks

Iran‘s top military body, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, has issued a strong warning to the United States. The warning came after threats to strike Iran’s nuclear sites. On Tuesday, the headquarters released a statement. It said the US has threatened to attack Iran’s nuclear facilities and other important locations. The statement called the threat a criminal act.

The command said if the US proceeds with such an attack, Iran will see it as a bigger war. It said the fighting would then spread across the region. It also gave a clear warning. It said all US interests would become targets. This includes interests belonging to US allies and supporters. The statement said Iran’s armed forces would respond with powerful attacks.

This warning followed comments from US President Donald Trump. He was meeting with Lebanon’s president, Michel Aoun. During that meeting, Trump said the US would target Iran’s Pickaxe Mountain nuclear site. He said this would happen “pretty soon”.

This is not the first time Trump has made this kind of threat. He has warned about striking Iran’s nuclear sites before. Earlier this month, Iran’s President Masoud Pezeshkian responded to a similar threat. He called such warnings disrespectful. He said the words fit the people saying them, not the Iranian nation.

Pezeshkian also asked a question. He pointed to past threats to break Iran apart. He asked where those who made such threats ended up now. Trump’s latest warning comes during a tense period. The US has taken several actions that Iran sees as violations of earlier commitments. Iran has described these as unprovoked acts of aggression against its territory.

Iran’s armed forces have responded to each incident. This includes their response to issues involving ship movement in the Strait of Hormuz. Iran has said its military will continue to respond firmly to any future violations.
