NEW DELHI, India (CWBN)_ Vice-chairman of Niti Aayog (The National Institution for Transforming India) Rajiv Kumar had positive news about the projected state of the Indian economy next year; he stated this week that the Indian economy will see positive growth in the fourth quarter of the financial year of 2021.

Kumar told an Indian news agency that the fourth quarter will show a small but positive growth over the previous year because of changes being made by the government to improve the economy. He also stated that India has now shrugged off the economic fallout of the pandemic and that the Indian economy will continue to show high growth in future.

This news from the government think-tank is sure to bolster confidence in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in India. The economy was a big reason for the recent BJP win in the Bihar Assembly elections  – government schemes benefitting women and farmers etc. meant that the ruling BJP was viewed positively by Indians.
