50 hospitals have been designated as responsible for carrying out the administration of the vaccine. It was reported that doses have been arriving in the UK from Belgium over the past few days. The first doses are expected to reach the hospitals from secure storage by tomorrow.

Thus far the British government has ordered up to 40 million doses, 800,000 of which are expected to be available in the course of the week. The first batch of the vaccine arrived in UK on the 3rd of this month.

The 40 million doses would be adequate to vaccinate 20 million people with double shots.

Medical Director of the NHS, Professor Stephen Powis noted that the body has a strong record of carrying out similar campaigns quite effectively, such as that against HPV and MMR.
