London, UK (CWBN)_ It has been made official that the UK will be leaving the EU free market by the end of this year, however, Head of Task Force for Relations with the UK, Michel Barnier, is due to brief EU leadership on an alternative deal reached with the UK.

The British Parliament is yet to be informed of the specifics of the development.

The Labour Party claimed that it was a “thin agreement” and would be supporting it nonetheless, during a Parliamentary session schedules for the 30th this month, as there is no alternative, while the European Parliament is expected to ratify the terms of the agreement next year in order to fully implement it.

Several Conservative MPs have also noted that they will be scrutinizing the deal in depth, but it is quite likely that they too will approve it.

BBC reported that UK’s Chief Negotiator, David Frost, said that the document encompasses up to 1500 pages, however, about 1000 pages are annexes and footnotes.

Commenting on the development during a press conference held at Downing Street, yesterday (24th Dec), PM Boris Johnson said that, “We have also today resolved a question that has bedevilled our politics for decades and it is up to us all together as a newly and truly independent nation to realize the immensity of this moment and to make the most of it.”

Johnson also stressed that “[The UK] will remain culturally, emotionally, historically, strategically and geologically attached to Europe.”

Nonetheless the status quo regarding “totemic” issue of fishing access into British waters will remain unchanged.
