Dr. Bonnie Henry one of British Colombia’s top doctors says she can understand why the residents of British Colombia are getting restless and frustrated at the pace of the vaccinations are being delivered in the province, but she does say that there are more doses of the vaccine on the way.

Dr. Henry goes on to say that “It is what it is, It doesn’t make vaccine come any quicker to be upset or angry or mad about it. We’re playing the hand we were dealt and we are committed to getting immunizations as fast into people’s arms to protect people as we receive them.”

The shipment of Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine to Canada was delayed by one day because the winter season was wreaking havoc in America. Dr. Henry states that the Pfizer had indeed committed to providing increased doses between now and the end of March and she remains hopeful about the province getting increased number of the Moderna Vaccine. The deliveries have been set to ramp up and Dr. Henry is now confident that the gap between doses can be extended to almost 3 months if the need were to arise.

According to the research done after giving the first done of vaccines the rate of effectiveness was almost 90%. Dr. Henry says that “As a scientist and somebody who has worked in the field of vaccines for quite a long time, this is actually incredibly exciting and positive news that we have this very high level of protection in seniors here in B.C. from the first dose of the vaccine.”
