Indian-American couple donate INR 1 crore

Mumbai, India (CU)_ The Bihar Jharkhand Association of North America (BJANA) declared that an Indian-American couple from Texas has donated over INR 1 crore to healthcare projects in Bihar and Jharkhand. The Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation lavishly donated USD 150,000 to the BJANA. This fund will be used to support the healthcare initiatives in rural areas of Bihar and Jharkhand via the PRAN-BJANA clinic initiative.

The Pravasi Alumni Nisshulk (PRAN) is a group of Indian-American doctors with similar goals who are committed to provide healthcare facilities to the poor and underserved people in Bihar and Jharkhand states. These physicians have established their PRAN clinic in Ranchi, which supports the poor with free healthcare. Their aim is to offer free healthcare to all the people in the states.

Avinash Gupta, BJANA president, appreciated the donation from the Indian-American couple and assured that this fund would be used for the welfare of the needy. He said, “With the generous donation of Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia, this became possible. BJANA getting a large donation is a testament to its ongoing philanthropic activities both here and back home”. Former FIA president Alok Kumar also conveyed his thanks to the couple and claimed that such a donation will assist the BJANA in executing its healthcare services in the states.

Kalpana Bhatia is a wealthy entrepreneur in Texas who graduated from NIT Patna. The Ramesh and Kalpana Bhatia Family Foundation is committed to making a positive difference in the world by supporting creative ideas and services that benefit communities. The foundation focuses on local, national, and international organizations that support health care and medical research, education, mental health, intellectual and developmental disabilities, human rights and social justice, women’s and girls’ empowerment, poverty reduction, and emergency response, among other things.
