Texas, USA (CU)_ Vimeo is a video hosting, sharing, and services provider based in New York City. Vimeo was founded in 2004 by Jake Lodwick and Zach Klein and currently has more than 200 million users. After Vimeo made its Nasdaq debut last month, the company’s chief executive, Anjali Sud, posted a thankyou note on social media.

According to the media, the internet video service debuted on the Nasdaq using the ticker name VMEO. Ms Sud took to Twitter to announce the news. She wrote, “Today Vimeo is a public company”. She also tweeted a photo of herself opening the Nasdaq markets in honour of her firm’s debut. Sud said in her statement that the Vimeo team does not intend to stop until everyone could benefit from their high-quality video.

The 37-year-old CEO wrote, “It has been a 16-year labour of love, rooted in our belief within the power of video. We put creators first, and put that power in the hands of millions”. In her Twitter statement, she expressed her gratitude to everyone who helped make it possible. Wishes poured in for the CEO in Twitter after she revamped the video app and kept it relevant in the ever-evolving social media market. They credited this success to Ms Sud’s decision to avoid competition with YouTube, Netflix, and other video streaming sites.

Many lauded the Indian-origin woman for her amazing accomplishment in securing such a high designation in an American tech corporation. Anjali’s parents are natives of India, who moved to Detroit, Michigan. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and her MBA from Harvard University in 2011. In 2017, she became the CEO of Vimeo.
