UK to pay tribute to the courageous contribution of pit workers

ALREWAS, Staffordshire (CU)_During his two-day visit to Scotland on Thursday (5 August), British Prime Minister Boris Johnson attracted criticism for his remarks that former PM Margaret Thatcher gave “a big early start” in the country’s transition to a green future. Following his visit to the Moray East offshore wind farm, off the north-east coast of Scotland, reporters questioned the Prime Minister if he wanted to set a firm deadline on phasing out fossil fuels, to his which he responded: “Look at what we’ve done already. We’ve transitioned away from coal in my lifetime.”
